# Soul Steel Tools Soul Steel is a brand new material to the 2.0.0 update of Spirit. Obtained when throwing metal into a soul fire surrounded by soul powder blocks, it is able to harness the energy found within a soul to provide unique powders and abilities when empowered. When crafted into tools, Soul Steel has the ability to provide buffs or debuffs to an enemy or to a block when hit or broken. These tools can also be easily repaired by being thrown into soul fire for a short period of time. Below is a list of all the abilities applied when using Soul Steel Tools in vanilla Spirit. A Soul Crystal containing souls of that particular mob type are required to get the buffs or debuffs.
